$5,000 Goal

Kinnickinnic River Land Trust (KRLT) is grateful for the funds raised last year needed to purchase The Community Forest, a key 40-acre, old growth forested parcel of land in the lower river canyon downstream of the City of River Falls, Wisconsin.  Thank you!  We are still in need of funds for stewardship of our preserves, continuing the work of connecting with potential easement holders and engaging with the community.

The Community Forest and our other preserves expand green space, prevent development, conserve land and waters, and provide river access to multiple user groups.

What is the amount that we are fundraising?

  • During giveBig our goal is to raise $5,000.  These funds go towards supporting the land trust and projects such as The Community Forest, as well as improvements of trails, signage and stewardship of the Kinni River Watershed.

How will I be able to access the Community Forest?

  • A small parking lot has been created at the entrance off of Cty Rd FF with a ½ mile foot path to the property. There will be no public vehicular access.
  • Now KRLT owned, individuals can access the property by foot through River Hills and Glen Park.

Where is the Community Forest located?

  • The Community Forest is located north of Birch Cliff development. Between Glen Park and the River Falls School Forest.

What are other ways that I can give?

  • Employer matching donations
  • By visiting KRLT website
  • Sending checks directly to the KRLT office.
