Special Olympics provides year round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendships with other families, other athletes and the community. Their world is opened with acceptance and understanding. They become confident and empowered by their accomplishments.

Your support will cover the costs of competition fees/expenses and will assist us in improving the health of our athletes with healthy eating and physical activity training. We are fortunate that all of Polk County Special Olympic management and coaching is done on a volunteering basis.

Special Olympics is a global movement of people creating a world of inclusion and community, where every single person is accepted and welcomed, regardless of ability or disability. We are helping to make the world a better, healthier and more joyful place--one athlete, one volunteer, one family member at a time.
